'A' For Aishwarya...'H' For Hrithik in english alphabets

They are among the most adored film stars in Bollywood, but who could have guessed that the names of Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan could be used to teach kids basic English alphabets.

It’s no longer ‘A’ for Apple or ‘H’ for house. It’s ‘A’ for Aishwarya and ‘H’ for Hrithik in several books by private publishers. This was brought to attention by a BJP member in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian parliament.

Kalraj Mishra, the BJP member, wanted the government to enforce strict regulation to control “confusing publications” brought out by private publishers for children.

Mr. Mishra added that schools use private publishers’ books on the pretext of shortage of NCERT books.

The point raised by Mr. Mishra is quite pertinent, because if not halted now, this could spin off into a dangerous trend where B stands for Bollywood, C stands for Celina, and K stands for Kaminey.
