Be prepared to loosen your purse strings if you want to party with Bipasha Basu. The sexy bongshell made it clear in no uncertain terms when she refused to attend the party of a hotelier at the launch of her fitness DVD, produced by Shemaroo Entertainment.
Bipasha was staying at Hotel Ramada Plaza where she was to reportedly attend a party to celebrate the DVD’s launch. However, when she learnt that it was also the birthday party of the hotel chairman, Ashok Mittal, she put her foot down and refused to go to the party.
A shocked Mittal tried to persuade the actress, but she didn’t budge.
Now, Mittal is accusing Bipasha of being “greedy” and alleges that she demanded Rs 30 lakh to attend the party. Mittal says it was specified in the contract that she would attend the party.
However, an official statement by Shemaroo Entertainment says: “It was never mentioned it was the chairman’s birthday. Due to misrepresentation of facts, we decided Bipasha won’t attend.”
We hear the production house gave the hotel a compensation of a little over Rs 10 lakh for Bipasha’s refusal to attend the party.
